Once upon a time, there was a beautiful young princess who lived in a grand palace.

She loved to play with her golden ball near a well in the forest.

One day, the ball slipped from her hands and fell into the deep well.

The princess began to cry, not knowing how to retrieve it.

A frog heard her sobbing and appeared at the edge of the well.

"Why are you crying, beautiful princess?" asked the frog.
“美丽的公主，你为什么哭泣？”青蛙问道。
"My golden ball has fallen into the well," she replied.
“我的金球掉进了井里，”她回答道。
"I can help you," said the frog, "but you must promise to be my friend."
“我可以帮你，”青蛙说，“但你必须答应成为我的朋友。”
The princess, eager to get her ball back, quickly agreed.
公主急于取回金球，立刻答应了。
The frog dove into the water and soon returned with the golden ball.

The princess was overjoyed, but as soon as she had the ball, she ran back to the palace, forgetting her promise.

The next day, as the princess dined with her family, the frog arrived at the palace.

The princess was shocked and told her father, the king, about her promise.

"A promise is a promise," said the king. "You must let the frog in."

When she woke up the next morning, she was astonished to see a handsome prince standing before her.

The prince explained that he had been cursed by a witch and only her kindness could break the spell.
