Once, in a small village, there lived a lazy man who spent his days napping under a tree.
从前，在一个小村庄里，住着一个整天在树下睡觉的懒汉。
He avoided work and relied on others for food and shelter.
他不愿工作，总是依赖别人提供食物和住所。
One day, as he lay under a tree, a fairy appeared before him.
有一天，当他躺在树下时，一位仙女出现在他面前。
"I will grant you three wishes," said the fairy, "but use them wisely."
仙女说：“我可以满足你三个愿望，但要明智地使用它们。”
The lazy man, surprised and delighted, immediately made his first wish.
懒汉又惊又喜，立刻许下了第一个愿望。
"I wish for all the food I can eat!" he exclaimed.
他喊道：“我要吃不完的食物！”
Instantly, a feast appeared before him. He ate until he could eat no more, wasting much of it.
瞬间，一桌丰盛的美食出现在他面前。他吃到撑，却浪费了大部分食物。
Afterward, he returned to his usual laziness, not thinking about the future.
之后，他又恢复了懒惰的生活，从不考虑未来。
Days later, he grew bored and used his second wish.
几天后，他感到无聊，许下了第二个愿望。
"I wish for a big house to live in!"
“我要一座大房子住！”
The fairy granted his wish, and a grand house appeared.
仙女满足了他的愿望，一座豪宅出现在眼前。
But the house quickly fell into disrepair because the lazy man refused to maintain it.
但房子很快破败了，因为懒汉不愿打理和维护。
Finally, with his last wish, he said, "I want to be rich!"

Gold and treasures appeared, but without effort or care, he soon squandered them.

In the end, the lazy man returned to his tree, poor and hungry as before.

The fairy appeared again and said, "Your laziness has wasted all I gave you. True happiness comes from hard work."

The story teaches that without effort, even the greatest gifts can be squandered.
