Sit Back and Enjoy the Fruits of Others' Labor

A long time ago, there was a farmer.

He worked hard in the fields every day.

His neighbor was lazy and never worked.

The farmer planted in spring, weeded in summer, and harvested in autumn.

His rice grew tall and strong.

The neighbor saw this and felt jealous.

He said to the farmer, "You have too much rice. Give me some!"

The farmer got angry and said, "I worked hard for this!"

The neighbor laughed and said, "If I eat your rice, I am helping you!"

The farmer ignored him and stored the rice in his barn.

The neighbor tried to steal the rice every day.

One night, he sneaked into the barn.

As he was taking the rice, the farmer appeared with a stick.

The farmer shouted, "You don’t work, but you want food! That’s not right!"

The neighbor got scared and ran away.

From then on, the farmer guarded his rice carefully.

The neighbor never dared to steal again.

"Reaping without sowing" means enjoying the rewards without working.

This idiom teaches us that only hard work brings success.
