During the Three Kingdoms period, Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi faced off on the battlefield.
The Shu army launched several attacks, but Sima Yi refused to engage.
Zhuge Liang wanted to lure him out, so he ordered a fake retreat.
As soon as the Shu army left, some Wei soldiers got excited.
But Sima Yi shook his head. “No, this is Zhuge Liang’s trick.”
So he held his troops back, refusing to chase.
Seeing his plan fail, Zhuge Liang changed tactics.
He sent small forces to harass the Wei army and then quickly retreat.
Sima Yi thought the Shu army was weak and finally ordered an attack.
The Shu army fought while retreating, luring the Wei forces into a trap.
Once deep inside, the Shu army suddenly turned back and surrounded them.
Sima Yi panicked, realizing he had fallen into the trap.
Zhuge Liang smiled and said, “The enemy was too eager to attack and walked right into it.”
The Wei army suffered heavy losses and retreated to their city, afraid to attack again.
