Upon receiving the letter, Di Qing immediately asked the emperor for permission to fight.

The emperor questioned, "Is this battle significant enough for you to go personally?"
皇帝问：“边境战事，值得你亲自前往吗？”
Di Qing firmly replied, "Wang Meng has guarded the border for years with loyalty. How can I stand by and do nothing?"
狄青坚定地说：“王猛多年守边，忠诚无二，我岂能袖手旁观？”
The emperor agreed, and Di Qing led his troops to battle.
皇帝答应，狄青率大军亲自赶赴战场。
His army quickly defeated the enemy and rescued Wang Meng.
狄青的军队迅速击败敌人，救出王猛。
Seeing Di Qing again, Wang Meng was filled with tears. "After all these years, we finally fight side by side again!"
王猛见到狄青，热泪盈眶：“多年未见，今日终于并肩作战！”
Di Qing smiled and said, "No matter how long, our friendship is as steady as mountains and rivers."

After the war, they returned to the capital together and were honored by the people.
战斗结束后，二人携手归朝，受百姓敬仰。
