Willing but Unable

During the Three Kingdoms period, there was a young general named Zhang Yi.

He was brave and loyal, earning the trust of Cao Cao.

One day, Cao Cao sent Zhang Yi to attack the enemy army.

Zhang Yi was eager to make great achievements for his country.

He led his troops and hurried to the battlefield, hoping for victory.

However, the enemy’s defense was too strong, and his army was too small.

He fought with all his strength but could not break through.

Zhang Yi became anxious, knowing he could do better if he had more soldiers.

He thought, "If only I had more troops, I would surely win!"

But despite his best efforts, he was unable to defeat the enemy.

Disheartened, Zhang Yi had to retreat with regret in his heart.

Cao Cao saw this and comforted him, saying,

"You tried your best. Sometimes, we simply lack the strength to succeed."

Zhang Yi sighed, "I want to do more for my country, but I am powerless."

Cao Cao nodded, "It’s not about unwillingness; sometimes, we are just not strong enough."

Zhang Yi was deeply moved and understood his own limitations.

"Strong will, weak strength" means that effort alone is not always enough.

Sometimes, giving our best is already the greatest achievement.
