In the Zhou Dynasty, there was a man from Chu named Xiong Quzi.
周朝时，有个楚国人名叫熊渠子。
He loved archery since he was a child, but he was too weak to pull the bow at first.
从小他就热爱射箭，但起初力气太小，弓拉不动。
People laughed at him, thinking he could never become a great archer.
人们笑他，觉得他永远无法成为射箭能手。
Xiong Quzi was not discouraged, and he practiced every day to build his strength.
熊渠子不服气，他每天坚持练习，逐渐增强了臂力。
However, even though his arrows flew far, he could not always hit the target.
然而，虽然他的箭飞得很远，但并不总能准确命中目标。
He did not give up, and continued training his eyesight and skills.
他不气馁，继续刻苦训练，练习眼力和技巧。
After a long time of hard work, his archery became more accurate.
经过长时间的努力，他的箭法越来越精准。
Later, he could hit the target seven or eight times out of ten.
后来，他的箭法几乎每射十箭，七八箭都能命中目标。
But he was still not satisfied and kept striving for improvement.
但他觉得自己还有不足，依然不满足，继续努力。
One day, while walking on a mountain path, he saw a tiger lying ahead.
有一天，他独自在山路上走，突然看到一只老虎伏在前方。
Xiong Quzi stayed calm and thought this was a good chance to test his skills.
熊渠子冷静下来，心想这是测试自己箭法的好机会。
Without hesitation, he drew his bow and aimed at the tiger.
他毫不犹豫，取出弓箭，对准老虎射去。
The arrow flew with a crisp sound, but there was no movement from the tiger.
箭射出去，声音清脆，却没有听到老虎的动静。
He approached and found out it was a large rock, with the arrow deeply embedded in it.
他走近一看，竟然是一块大石头，箭深深插入石头中。
People were amazed by his skill and praised him, saying his arrow could "split rocks."
人们都惊叹他箭法的高超，称赞他“金石为开”。
Because Xiong Quzi was focused and persistent, his archery became so precise.
因为熊渠子集中精力，专心致志，才让箭法如此精准。
This story teaches us that with enough perseverance, even the hardest things can be overcome.
这个故事也告诉我们：无论多么坚硬的石头，只要有足够的毅力，都能被打破。
"Gold and stone can be split" means that persistence and focus can overcome any difficulty.
“金石为开”就是形容坚持不懈、专注努力，最终能克服一切困难。
