One day, a lamb was grazing by a clear stream, drinking water peacefully.
一天，一只小羊正在清澈的小溪边吃草，安静地喝水。
A hungry wolf saw the lamb and decided to find a reason to attack it.
一只饥饿的狼看到了小羊，决定找个理由来攻击它。
The wolf approached the lamb and growled, "Why are you making the water dirty?"
狼走近小羊咆哮道：“为什么你把水弄脏了？”
The lamb, startled but calm, replied, "I am drinking downstream from you. The water cannot be dirty where you are."
小羊吃惊但冷静地回答：“我在下游喝水，水怎么会弄脏到你那边呢？”
The wolf frowned and said, "Well, I heard you insulted me last year."
狼皱着眉说：“好吧，我听说你去年侮辱了我。”
The lamb replied, "I wasn’t even born last year!"
小羊回答：“我去年还没出生呢！”
Angered, the wolf snarled, "If it wasn’t you, then it must have been your family!"
愤怒的狼咆哮道：“如果不是你，那一定是你的家人！”
Without waiting for another reply, the wolf pounced on the lamb and ate it.
没等小羊再说什么，狼就扑向小羊，把它吃掉了。
Moral: The wicked always find an excuse to justify their actions.
寓意：邪恶之人总会找借口为自己的行为开脱。
