His fields depended on rainwater because he had no well.

His neighbor advised him, "Dig a well early. Don’t wait until a drought comes."

The farmer laughed and said, "There is plenty of water now. I don’t need a well."

A year later, a severe drought hit the village, and the rivers dried up.
