It had not rained for weeks, and the streams and ponds were all dry.

Finally, the crow saw a pitcher by the side of the road.

It flew down excitedly, hoping to quench its thirst.

Peering inside, the crow saw water at the bottom of the pitcher.

But the water was too low for the crow to reach with its beak.

The crow tried tipping the pitcher over, but it was too heavy.

Frustrated, it hopped around, thinking of a solution.

Then, the crow had an idea.

It began picking up small stones one by one and dropping them into the pitcher.

The crow continued tirelessly until the water was within reach.

Finally, it dipped its beak into the pitcher and drank its fill.

The crow flew away, refreshed and triumphant.
