The Twelve Dancing Princesses

Once upon a time, a king had twelve beautiful daughters who slept in a grand room with locked doors.

Every morning, their shoes were mysteriously worn out, as if they had been dancing all night.

The king, puzzled by the mystery, declared that anyone who could uncover their secret would win one of his daughters as a bride.

However, those who failed would lose their lives.

Many princes tried but failed to discover the secret, for the princesses would give them wine laced with sleeping potion.

One day, a poor soldier came to the palace. An old woman gave him advice:

"Do not drink the wine they offer, and take this cloak that will make you invisible."

That night, the soldier pretended to drink the wine but secretly poured it away.

When the princesses believed he was asleep, they opened a secret passage under their beds.

The soldier, wearing the invisible cloak, followed them through the passage.

He saw them crossing a magical forest of silver, gold, and diamonds, arriving at a palace where twelve princes awaited them.

The princesses danced all night until their shoes were worn out.

The soldier returned before them and brought proof to the king: a golden branch from the magical forest.

The king was astonished and kept his promise. The soldier chose the eldest princess as his bride.

The spell on the princesses was broken, and the twelve princes from the magical palace disappeared.

The story teaches that courage, intelligence, and persistence can uncover hidden truths.
